Herb Research

Herbal tea garden: The herbs are visually appealing and delightfully fragrant, allowing you to sit amongst them and enjoy your own creation. Gardens grow best in a sunny location with well-drained soil.

Favourite tea herb plants:

Mint- refreshing wether cold or hot and blends well with other herbs. Keep in containers to make sure it doesn't take over other plants. Works well with tarragon.

Catnip- belongs to mint family.

Rosemary- Fragrant herb to make a soothing tea.

Lemon Balm- Combines well with other flavours. Enjoyable with honey for a sweet tea.

Lemon grass- Spicier than lemon balm, combines well with fruity flavors.

Passion Flower- Leaves, relaxing and soporific

Rose- Buds once the bloom has expired, boost of vitamin C

Chamomile- Buds, relaxing.

Lavender- buds, calming.

Some herbs may be brewed directly after being harvested or you may wish to dry some.
When using fresh herbs for your tea, use one tablespoon and bruise by tearing or crushing to release the oils. Use an infuser to contain the herbs. Steep the herbs for 5-15 minutes, strain and pour intone cup.
There are endless combinations of herbal teas to enjoy with emotional and health benefits.
